Renowned for their innovation, creativity, and commercial success, this well‑established business is continuing to grow rapidly and is seeking a talented Graphic & Packaging Designer to join their in‑house design team. You will play a pivotal role in interpreting briefs from leading national and international retailers into compelling, shelf‑ready designs that balance creativity with commercial appeal.
The Role
As Graphic & Packaging Designer, you will take ownership of projects from concept through to production. You will collaborate closely with the sales, product development, and buying teams to ensure designs are not only visually impactful but also technically accurate and production ready. Your work will span new packaging concepts, graphic design, artwork creation, and high‑quality presentations to support submissions to key account retail buyers.
Key Responsibilities
- Conceptualising and developing innovative, trend‑driven product and packaging designs in response to client briefs
- Translating creative ideas into commercially viable solutions
- Conducting thorough trend, market and competitor research to inform and inspire new product development
- Producing accurate, production‑ready artwork for products and packaging, with meticulous attention to layout, typography, colour, and compliance
- Creating cutter guides, managing technical packaging specifications and incorporating all required back‑of‑pack information
- Developing high‑impact customer presentations including mock‑ups and visuals to support sales meetings and retail pitches
- Liaising with suppliers and production teams to ensure smooth transition from design to manufacture
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
Requirements
- Experience in graphic and packaging design within a retail‑focused role
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop and ideally Dimension) on Mac
- Strong experience creating cutter guides and packaging artwork layouts for production.
- Solid understanding of packaging compliance requirements, including barcodes, hazard warnings, and regulatory information
- Experience using 3D modelling and rendering software such as Fusion 360 (or similar) would be a benefit
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
- Able to work efficiently and at pace without compromising quality
- Flexible, solutions‑focused and adaptable to evolving briefs and priorities
- A positive, collaborative team player with genuine enthusiasm for design and product
