Are you a creative designer at the start of your career, bursting with ideas and passion for packaging, products, and visual storytelling? Do you love spotting trends, bringing concepts to life, and seeing your designs make it onto real retail shelves? We’re looking for a talented Junior Designer to join our fast-paced and collaborative design team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills across packaging, product design, and marketing artwork, working on exciting ranges for major UK and US retailers. You’ll be involved in the full creative journey, from research and concept development, through to print-ready artwork and production samples. If you’re hands-on, detail-driven, and eager to grow in a commercial design environment, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll be doing:
- Design Research & Inspiration
- Spotting emerging trends across gifting and games
- Conducting market and competitor research through shopping and analysis
- Building an understanding of key clients and their brand needs
- Packaging & Product Design
- Working closely with Product Development and Sales teams to interpret design briefs
- Creating mood boards, concepts, mock-ups, and presentation visuals
- Amending designs in response to retailer feedback and internal direction
- Producing mock-ups and photographing concepts for presentations
- Creating style guides and ensuring brand consistency across ranges
- Creative Artwork & Print Production
- Applying in-house and customer style guides accurately
- Preparing print-ready artwork for factories, managing any artwork amends
- Liaising with factories to review and approve pre-production visuals
- Production & Sampling
- Photographing products at pre-mass and mass production stages
- Supporting sample reviews to ensure colour accuracy, print quality, and finish
- Checking cutter guides, registration, and overall production quality
- Marketing & Visual Content
- Photographing products for catalogues, websites, and social media
- Producing sell sheets, trade fair materials, and other marketing assets
About you:
- A degree in Graphic Design, Packaging Design, or a related subject, or equivalent experience (including placements, internships, or university projects)
- Evidence of packaging design experience (professional or self-directed), and experience working with print design
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop
- Basic photography skills
- A great eye for colour, layout, typography, and composition
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of brand guidelines and visual consistency
- Exposure to working with factories or product specifications is advantageous
- Excellent attention to detail and organisation
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work across multiple teams
- Confidence managing multiple projects in a fast-moving environment
