This is a proper sales role. Target-driven. Commercial. Confident. You will sell marketing and advertising campaigns to businesses across Greater Manchester and beyond. That includes digital, social, events, awards and big brand-led campaigns. You will be expected to prospect, pitch, close, and grow accounts. Week in, week out. You will work closely with the founder and the wider team. You will help shape our commercial offering, revenue streams, and partner relationships. You will also keep the standards high. We do strong work, with good people, for the city we love. If you love Manchester and you know how to sell without selling your soul, you will fit right in.
What you will be doing:
- Own and grow commercial revenue across I Love Manchester.
- Sell partnership packages and campaign-led advertising across digital, social, events and awards.
- Prospect hard. Build a pipeline. Open doors. Follow up. Keep going.
- Pitch ideas that make sense for each business, not copy and paste packages.
- Close deals and hit monthly and quarterly targets.
- Manage and grow existing partners. Renew accounts and increase value over time.
- Create tailored proposals and simple, clear media plans.
- Work with internal teams to deliver campaigns that partners love and renew.
- Represent I Love Manchester at meetings, events and in the city.
- Track performance. Report on pipeline, activity, revenue, and results.
What we need from you:
- Proven experience in B2B sales, partnerships, or media/marketing sales.
- Comfortable working to targets and being accountable to numbers (pipeline, calls, meetings, revenue).
- Strong client relationship and account management skills.
- Confident pitching, negotiating, and closing.
- Good understanding of digital advertising, social campaigns, and brand partnerships.
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage your own week.
- You know Greater Manchester. You get the city, the energy, and the opportunities.
- Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications (nice to have, not essential).
What success looks like:
- A healthy pipeline you build yourself.
- Consistent new business wins.
- Renewals and account growth, not one-off deals.
- Partners who feel looked after and see results.
- Targets hit, and momentum kept.
Sounds like you? Send a short intro and your CV to hello@ilovemanchester.com. Tell us why Manchester matters to you, and give us a quick example of something you have sold (and how you went about it).
