Job Responsibilities
- Support the delivery and development of ERP systems and processes, with a particular focus on the HR and Payroll workstream.
- Analyse business requirements and translate them into effective system, process and reporting solutions.
- Progress reporting requirements and integrations across HR and Payroll systems, ensuring accurate and reliable data flows.
- Gather, document and validate business, functional, data and system requirements with key stakeholders.
- Analyse existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement, automation and greater system efficiency.
- Support the design, development, testing and implementation of ERP system changes and integrations.
- Work with technical teams, HR, Payroll and business stakeholders to resolve system, data and integration issues.
- Develop and maintain process maps, requirements documentation, data mappings, user stories and acceptance criteria where required.
- Support system and integration testing, including test scenarios, defect identification, resolution and validation.
- Investigate data discrepancies and reporting issues, ensuring information is accurate, complete and fit for purpose.
- Produce clear reports, analysis and documentation to support project decisions and business requirements.
- Monitor progress against agreed requirements, deliverables and timescales, escalating risks or issues appropriately.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with Council policies, data protection and information governance requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and successful delivery of ERP, HR and Payroll transformation initiatives.
Person Specification
- Proven experience working as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, ERP Systems Officer or in a similar systems-focused role.
- Strong experience supporting HR and Payroll systems, ERP implementations or related business transformation projects.
- Demonstrable experience progressing reporting requirements and system integrations, particularly within HR and Payroll environments.
- Strong business analysis skills, including requirements gathering, analysis, documentation and validation.
- Experience analysing business processes and translating requirements into practical system solutions.
- Understanding of system integrations, data flows, interfaces and data mapping.
- Experience supporting system testing, UAT, defect management and implementation activities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex system and data issues.
- Ability to work effectively with technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical or system-related information clearly.
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly when working with payroll, employee and other sensitive data.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to produce accurate reports, process documentation and business analysis outputs.
- Good understanding of data protection, confidentiality and information governance.
- Proficient IT skills and confidence working with business systems, reporting tools and data.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a wider project or delivery team.
- Experience within a local authority or public sector environment is desirable.
