Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and representation on childcare matters to the Newcastle Town Council.
  • Handle cases related to child protection, adoption, fostering, and other related areas.
  • Collaborate with social services, external agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure the welfare of children.
  • Prepare and present cases in court, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including care orders and agreements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of childcare law and practices.
  • Ensure all legal processes adhere to statutory requirements and best practices.

Person Specifications:

Must Have:

  • Qualified solicitor or barrister with a valid practicing certificate.
  • Proven experience in childcare law and related legal proceedings.
  • Strong understanding of UK childcare legislation and policies.
  • Excellent communication and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Nice to Have:
