Job Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership to the Safeguarding West Service
- Oversee the management and performance of two Contact Centres
- Lead and support multiple teams within the Safeguarding service to achieve positive outcomes for children and families
- Ensure effective decision-making at the Front Door to Children's Services
- Work in partnership with internal teams and external agencies to deliver timely and high-quality services
- Contribute as a senior leader within the Council's Senior Management Team
- Support and drive service improvement and transformation initiatives
- Promote the Council's values and behaviours in all aspects of service delivery
- Ensure services are delivered efficiently, safely, and without delay
Person Specification:
Must-Have Requirements:
- Proven experience working as a Head of Service within Children's Safeguarding
- Strong leadership experience at senior management level within a local authority
- Extensive knowledge of safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance, and best practice
- Experience overseeing Front Door services and contact or referral centres
- Ability to lead partnership working across multiple agencies
- Strong strategic, operational, and decision-making skills
- Availability to attend in-person interviews and meet hybrid working requirements
Nice-to-Have Requirements:
- Experience working within an outer London borough
- Involvement in service transformation or improvement programmes
