Job Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership for the council’s capital delivery programme
- Lead and oversee major capital projects to ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards
- Set clear direction and governance for capital planning, project management, and delivery
- Manage senior stakeholders, including elected members, senior officers, and external partners
- Ensure compliance with council policies, statutory requirements, and best practice
- Drive continuous improvement across capital delivery processes
- Support organisational priorities, including equality, diversity, and inclusion commitments
Person Specification:
Must-Have Requirements:- Significant senior-level experience in capital delivery or major project management
- Proven ability to lead large, complex programmes at a strategic level
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Recognised qualification in project management or a related discipline
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Ability to attend an in-person interview
- Experience working within a local authority or public sector environment
- Knowledge of capital governance frameworks and public sector regulations
