Investigation Support Officer Location: 10 Southway, Colchester, CO3 3BU Start Date: ASAP Contract Duration: 5+ Months Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00, 37 Hours per week Pay Rate: £ 15.08 Per Hour Job Ref: OR17816 Job Responsibilities Help with investigations by collecting evidence, recording intelligence, and working with social care and partners. Interview witnesses and victims, take statements, and assess their reliability for court cases. Manage CCTV evidence, conduct house-to-house inquiries, and provide court evidence when needed. Conduct research and write reports to support investigations. Support victims and witnesses by providing case updates and guidance. Handle evidence securely, including hazardous materials, and ensure proper documentation. Stay updated on relevant laws and policies to ensure high-quality investigations. Communicate effectively with social care to support child protection and joint actions. Perform safeguarding actions to protect victims, witnesses, and suspects. Person Specifications Must Have Full clean UK driving license. ABE (Achieving Best Evidence) training. High flexibility, motivation, and excellent communication skills. Ability to prioritize work, handle pressure, and meet deadlines. Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office. High integrity due to handling confidential material. Willingness to work extended hours and at different locations when needed. Nice to Have PIP2 and SOTO (Sexual Offence Trained Officer) qualifications. Experience in safeguarding vulnerable persons. Experience in criminal investigations, interviewing, and taking statements. Knowledge of force intelligence systems like Athena and Client.
