Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of 12 procurement and commercial professionals.
- Provide effective leadership on procurement and commercial matters.
- Support service area teams to achieve strategic commissioning objectives.
- Drive procurement effectiveness and ensure compliance with the Procurement Act 2023.
- Contribute to commissioning strategy development across the Council.
- Improve contract management practices and skills within the team.
- Oversee the implementation of a new Contract Module in the finance system.
- Support councillors in decision-making and navigate the political landscape.
- Identify and mitigate potential supply chain risks.
- Implement updated contract procedure rules and the Commissioning Framework.
