Job Opportunity: Housing Officer (Temporary) Position: Housing Officer Contract: Temporary, ASAP – 12 Month Contract Possibility of Extension: Yes, based on performance Pay Rate: £16.51 per hour (PAYE) Working Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:45 – 17:00 Location: IG8 0AG Job Purpose: The generic roles include tenancy management, rent arrears, allocations, and estate management. Key Responsibilities: Undertake tenancy management duties including, but not limited to, those which achieve:- – Tenancy creation and amendment – Tenancy enforcement – Tenancy sustainability, including the provision of intensive housing management and support -Tenant participation and involvement Be the predominant contact between tenants and the Council for tenancy processes including, but not limited to, sign-up, audits, enforcement, education, involvement, and sustainment. Ensure the effective use of community centres and other community facilities is in line with appropriate legislation and guidance. Record and action service requests about any element of the tenancy management service using the Council's specific systems. Support the involvement of tenants and residents in housing and community activities. Investigate and resolve matters concerning breach of tenancy and make appropriate recommendations to the Senior Housing Officer. Ensure all information systems are maintained and updated as appropriate and produce reports as requested.Qualifications and Experience: Previous experience in a housing officer-related field is essential. Understanding of housing laws, regulations, and policies. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges. Proficiency in using housing management software. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
