Job Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of the Digital and Data Strategy by creating enterprise architecture plans, target architectures, and technology roadmaps.
- Assess the current technology and data environment to identify gaps, duplication, risks, and opportunities for improvement or consolidation.
- Develop clear architecture roadmaps to support short-term delivery needs and long-term technology goals.
- Create and maintain business capability models, ensuring business capabilities align with strategic priorities and transformation plans.
- Define enterprise data architecture, including data platforms, data flows, integration patterns, data governance, and data management approaches.
- Work with Data Architects to improve data quality, data standards, business glossary, and management of structured and unstructured data.
- Review and manage application portfolios, identifying opportunities for application rationalisation, replacement, and consolidation.
- Develop application and integration architecture, including API-first approaches, integration standards, and decision frameworks.
- Support CRM and case management system consolidation activities.
- Create technology improvement plans and support the development of security and cyber architecture roadmaps.
- Define enterprise architecture standards, principles, governance processes, and technical guardrails.
- Establish and support architecture review processes to provide guidance and assurance for projects and programmes.
- Provide architecture advice for technology decisions, procurement activities, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Define non-functional requirements and ensure solutions meet business, security, and technical standards.
- Develop guidance and governance for AI tools, integration approaches, and architecture decisions.
- Help establish long-term Enterprise Architecture capability by embedding effective processes, governance, and ways of working.
- Work closely with senior leaders, technical teams, and business stakeholders to ensure technology decisions support organisational goals.
Person Specifications
- Proven experience working as an Enterprise Architect in complex organisations.
- Experience delivering enterprise architecture strategies, roadmaps, and target architectures.
- Experience working in public sector or large multi-stakeholder environments is highly desirable.
- Strong experience assessing current technology landscapes and identifying improvement opportunities.
- Experience with technology consolidation, system rationalisation, and integration design.
- Good understanding of business architecture, capability models, and linking business needs with technology solutions.
- Experience with data architecture, data governance, and modern data management practices.
- Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Azure, Databricks, and data platform technologies.
- Experience with application integration approaches, APIs, and enterprise system connectivity.
- Understanding of CRM and case management system consolidation.
- Experience creating architecture standards, governance frameworks, and decision-making processes.
- Knowledge of cyber security architecture and technology risk management.
- Ability to translate business strategies into practical technology solutions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work with senior leaders, delivery teams, and external partners.
- Comfortable balancing immediate project needs with long-term strategic technology direction.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
