Our client is seeking a Financial Services Team Leader for an initial 3-month contract with the possibility of an extension.
Start Date: ASAP – 3 Months, with the possibility of an extension.
Pay Rate: £20.22 Per Hour PAYE
Location: LE67 3FJ
Working Hours: 36.25 Hours Per Week, 09:00 – 13:30, Mon – Thursday
Job Purpose:
To lead and manage the Financial Services function (accounts receivable, accounts payable, income collection, bank reconciliation, VAT, and payroll) to deliver an efficient and effective service and the provision of services in respect of all insurance matters including arrangements for ensuring adequate cover is in place, timely administration of claims and contract management.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a high standard of customer service throughout the Financial Services team.
- Act as a main point of contact for the Council in relation to Financial Services functions.
- To act as the authority’s lead for employer related tax and VAT.
- To act as one of the Council’s authorised bank signatories.
- Administration of the Council’s bank account, Corporate Credit Card, and associated online systems.
- Support the systems accountant with the administration and development of the finance systems.
- To help build pride, passion, and reputation for NWLDC.
- To develop the team, ensuring a culture of excellent customer service is a key focus.
- To grow talent and capability in the team by undertaking all employee appraisals timely and effectively, addressing any issues as appropriate.
- To challenge and drive performance to create an excellent service and Council.
- Always see the service through the eyes of the customer and make suggestions for improvement where appropriate.
- To carry out duties efficiently and effectively.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience in effectively managing a team.
- Experience in Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable systems and processes.
- VAT and insurance knowledge.
- Ability to process and analyze data and information accurately and within specific time frames.
- Ability to interpret and apply legislation and professional guidance.
- Good level of experience in the use of Excel (including the use of formulas, pivot tables, and lookups; minimum Intermediate or Advanced Excel), Word, and integrated financial systems.
