- Support the S151 Finance Manager in overseeing the Council's financial affairs.
- Provide strong technical financial advice across the organisation.
- Ensure accurate and effective financial administration in line with public sector requirements.
- Prepare, review and oversee statutory and financial reporting.
- Ensure financial information and systems meet the Council's reporting requirements.
- Work effectively with elected members, senior managers and staff across Council services.
- Influence and advise stakeholders on financial matters.
- Contribute to the effective management of the Council's financial resources.
- Must-Have Requirements
- In-depth understanding of public sector financial information requirements, systems and statutory reporting.
- Strong technical finance skills and knowledge of financial administration.
- Ability to provide credible financial advice and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience working effectively with members, senior staff and teams across different services.
- Relevant professional finance experience within a public sector environment.
- Nice-to-Have Requirements
- Membership of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT).
- Previous experience working within a local authority finance function.
- Experience supporting or deputising for an S151 Finance Manager.
