- Job Responsibilities
- Lead financial planning and forecasting activities across the organisation.
- Provide strategic financial advice to senior managers and key stakeholders.
- Oversee the development and monitoring of financial plans, budgets and forecasts.
- Analyse financial performance and identify key risks, trends and opportunities.
- Prepare clear financial reports, forecasts and recommendations for senior leadership.
- Support effective financial decision-making and long-term financial planning.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure financial plans align with organisational priorities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial planning processes and reporting.
- Must-Have Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior financial planning or management role.
- Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting and forecasting.
- Experience providing financial advice to senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Previous experience working within a large or complex organisation.
- Nice-to-Have Requirements
- Experience within a local authority or public sector organisation.
- Experience of working with West Sussex County Council or a similar organisation.
- Relevant professional accountancy qualification or equivalent experience.
