Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage technical finance activities within a large public sector organisation
- Provide expert financial advice to support organisational objectives
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and financial guidance
- Analyse complex financial information and recommend improvements to processes and controls
- Develop and implement changes to financial practices across services
- Manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines
- Support budget management and financial planning activities
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders and present financial information effectively
- Deliver specialist finance training and guidance to colleagues when required
Person Specification:
Must-Have Requirements:
- Substantial experience in a senior finance or budget management role within a large, complex organisation
- Strong knowledge of financial practices, procedures, and compliance requirements
- Proven ability to manage changing priorities and conflicting demands
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including presentation abilities
- High level of numeracy and literacy
- Proficient use of computerised financial systems, including Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work to, and enforce, deadlines
