Job Responsibilities:
- Provide financial support within the service group, including final accounts preparation and annual estimates.
- Assist with monthly budgetary control and outturn forecasting, particularly for staffing costs.
- Maintain and develop financial systems, enhancing training and financial awareness across the service group.
- Prepare relevant data for grant claims, statistical returns, and statutory submissions.
- Monitor expenditure for capital projects and minor works programmes.
- Complete routine financial tasks and provide information to support financial monitoring of service units.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by the Finance Business Partner.
Person Specification:
Must-Have Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent, including English Language and Mathematics.
- Studying for, or attainment of, foundation level AAT, introductory level CAT, or NVQ/SVQ Level 2 Accounting.
- Understanding of accounting principles within the Public Sector.
- Practical experience in final accounts preparation and or budgetary control.
- Ability to communicate financial information effectively to non‑finance managers.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in spreadsheets and/or databases.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work with minimal supervision.
Nice-to-Have Requirements:
- Previous experience working with public sector budget holders and finance officers.
- Familiarity with CIA systems or equivalent financial software.
