Summary
Are you looking to start a career in civil engineering or ready for a change into practical, outdoor work with real long-term opportunities?
We are a family-run civil engineering firm with our own fully owned fleet of plant, and we are looking for reliable, motivated people to join our Plant Department as trainee ADT operators.
About The Opportunity
This is a training and development opportunity for people who want to build a future in civil engineering and plant operation. Successful applicants will be trained and supported in preparation for their Dumper CPCS test before gaining practical experience on live sites.
Once competent, there will be a clear pathway to progress to further plant training, including operation of bulldozers and excavators.
What We Are Looking For
- A full UK driving licence.
- Access to your own vehicle, due to the location of our sites.
- Willingness to travel to sites across Scotland once trained.
- A reliable, safety-conscious, and hard-working attitude.
- Interest in civil engineering, construction, or plant operation.
- No prior plant ticket is required if you have the right attitude and commitment to learning.
What We Offer
- Starting rate of Β£13.00 per hour.
- Overtime available after 39 hours.
- Weekend overtime opportunities.
- Living away allowance where applicable.
- Subsistence for travel where applicable.
- Training towards your dumper CPCS test.
- Support from an experienced plant and site team.
- Long-term progression into other plant roles and site supervision.
How The Training Works
Training will initially take place in East Lothian. Candidates will be taken on in small groups to ensure everyone receives proper support, machine time, and supervision.
Once trained and competent, operators will be expected to work on sites across Scotland depending on project requirements.
