Overview

SWINDON: We are recruiting for a Pharmacy Technician Apprentice to join a busy pharmacy team. This role is ideal for someone looking to progress within pharmacy and develop the skills and knowledge needed to become a registered Pharmacy Technician.

Qualifications Required

GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English

Skills and Personal Qualities

  • A keen interest in pharmacy and healthcare.
  • Previous experience in the pharmacy industry or similar.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • The willingness to learn and develop your skills and knowledge.

Training to be Provided

Pharmacy Technician (Integrated) Level 3

Role and Responsibilities

  • As a Pharmacy Technician Apprentice, you will support the safe, effective and lawful supply of medicines while working closely with pharmacists and the wider healthcare team.
  • Manage, order, receive and supply medicines and pharmaceutical products safely and accurately.
  • Provide person-centred advice to patients on prescription and over-the-counter medicines, referring to healthcare professionals where appropriate.
  • Support the day-to-day running of the pharmacy, including business processes, stock control and clinical governance.
  • Supervise and support pharmacy support staff as you progress in the role.
  • Assist with training and mentoring new members of staff.
  • Maintain high standards through auditing, evaluating services and responding to feedback.

Apprenticeship & Qualifications

Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship (equivalent to A-level). On successful completion, you will be eligible to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). Training delivered through a blended learning approach alongside your job.
