Skills4Science is looking for a Chemical Laboratory Technician Apprentice to support our client’s growing analytical testing team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical laboratory experience while working towards a recognised qualification.
Qualifications Required
- GCSEs in Maths, English, and a science subject (or equivalent) at grade 4-9 or equivalent.
Personal Qualities
- Ability to work unsupervised following a planned work schedule
- Writing and numeracy skills
- Familiarity with computers / keyboards / typing skills
- Word, Excel, Access – statistics, graphs, data analysis
- General awareness of importance of safety, and in particular safety issues of working in a laboratory.

What You’ll Be Doing (Bentley)
- Prepare samples for chemical analysis
- Assist with laboratory testing procedures
- Operate analytical equipment under supervision
- Record and interpret test data
- Maintain laboratory documentation and records
- Follow quality assurance procedures
- Assist with sample receipt and tracking
- Support equipment calibration and maintenance
- Learn laboratory best practices and testing standards
- Maintain a clean and organised laboratory environment
- Follow strict health, safety, and environmental procedures
As your skills develop, you'll gain exposure to specialist testing techniques used across environmental and industrial sectors.
