This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a specialist setting that provides a nurturing, person-centred learning environment for secondary-aged pupils with Autism and a range of additional needs.

The school is committed to helping every learner develop confidence, resilience and independence through a therapeutic, holistic approach to education.

The Role

You will teach Science across KS3 and KS4 (up to GCSE), delivering engaging, creative lessons that are adapted to meet the individual needs of each learner.

Working with small class sizes of typically 6–10 pupils, you will have the opportunity to build positive relationships, provide personalised support and help students achieve both academically and personally.

The school places a strong emphasis on integrating therapeutic strategies into everyday teaching, creating an environment where students feel safe, valued and motivated to learn.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a teacher who

  • Can adapt lessons to support a range of abilities and learning styles.
  • Is patient, compassionate and resilient, with a genuine passion for inclusive education.
  • Shares a commitment to nurturing confidence, emotional wellbeing and a love of learning.

Previous SEN experience is desirable but not essential. Applications are welcomed from teachers with a genuine interest in specialist education and a willingness to learn.

  • What You'll Receive
  • A full-time, long term position starting in September.
  • Small class sizes, allowing for personalised teaching and meaningful student relationships.
  • A supportive, collaborative team with a shared commitment to student success.
  • Ongoing professional development and training in specialist SEN and therapeutic approaches.
  • The opportunity to work in a school where wellbeing, inclusion and individual progress are at the heart of everything they do.
