Lead Premises Officer / Caretaker

Location: Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire

Salary: £29,000 – £31,500 per annum
/n
Contract: Permanent, Full Time – 37 hours per week

Start Date: ASAP, although the school will consider candidates working a notice period

IC Talent are recruiting for an experienced and reliable Lead Premises Officer / Caretaker to join a primary school in the Sutton-in-Ashfield area.
/n
As the sole Premises Officer, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running, safety, security and maintenance of the school site. You will work closely with the Headteacher and school staff, as well as external contractors and cleaners.

Key Responsibilities
/n
/n
- Opening and securing the school each day.
/n
- General maintenance, repairs and caretaking duties.
/n
- Maintaining the school grounds and ensuring the site is safe and well presented.
/n
- Supporting risk assessments, health & safety and fire safety procedures.
/n
- Coordinating cleaners, contractors and estate services.
/n
- Liaising with external contractors and overseeing work on site.
/n
- Carrying out regular checks and ensuring facilities and equipment are safe and operational.
/n
- Acting as the main point of contact for the Headteacher and staff regarding premises matters.
/n
- Taking ownership of the overall condition and security of the school.
/n
/n
About You
/n
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience in a caretaker, premises, facilities or maintenance role, with good practical and DIY skills.
/n
You will need to be reliable, proactive and confident working independently, with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly. A good understanding of health and safety is desirable.
/n
A driving licence would be advantageous, and ideally you will live locally due to the requirement to open and close the school site.
/n
Working Hours
/n
37 hours per week, with shifts likely to include:

- 6am – 2pm
/n
- 7am – 3pm
/n
- 8am – 4pm
/n
- 10am – 6pm
/n
/n
There may be some split shifts, although the working pattern can be discussed with the Regional Manager.
