We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated Outstanding primary school based in Liverpool. This role involves supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to engage positively with learning and develop emotionally, socially, and academically.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
- Support emotional regulation, behaviour management, and social development
- Assist the class teacher in delivering differentiated and engaging lessons
- Implement behaviour support plans and individual strategies
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
- Promote a calm, structured, and nurturing learning environment
- Support pupils during transitions, break times, and interventions
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff
- Follow safeguarding, child protection, and behaviour policies
