Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and inspiring lessons that develop students' reading, writing and communication skills.
- Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated English lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience welcomed where applicable).
- Encourage a love of reading, writing and critical thinking.
- Assess, monitor and track student progress to support achievement.
- Create a calm, inclusive and purposeful classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with the Head of English, Teaching Assistants and wider staff.
- Adapt teaching to support students with SEND, EAL or additional learning needs.
- Build strong relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
- Contribute to enrichment activities such as reading initiatives, writing clubs or intervention programmes.
About You
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) preferred; ECTs and experienced teachers encouraged to apply.
- Confident teaching English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4.
- Passionate about literacy and student progress.
- Calm, reflective and consistent in their approach to behaviour management.
- A strong communicator who works effectively within a team.
- Organised, adaptable and confident in managing classroom routines.
