We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and proactive Premises Assistant to support the day-to-day running and maintenance of our school site. You'll work closely with the Site Manager to ensure that the school is a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the opening and closing of the school premises
- Carry out basic maintenance, repairs, and DIY tasks
- Monitor the condition and security of the buildings and grounds
- Set up rooms and furniture for assemblies, exams, and events
- Support the cleaning team and ensure high standards of hygiene
- Check and maintain stock of site-related supplies and equipment
- Respond promptly to site issues and emergencies
- Help supervise contractors and report any health & safety concerns
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience in a caretaking, maintenance, or facilities role (school experience desirable)
- Basic practical skills (DIY, minor repairs, manual handling)
- A strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to be flexible with working hours when needed
- A positive, proactive attitude and pride in maintaining high standards
- A valid Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
