We are seeking an experienced, passionate SENCO to lead and develop our school’s Special Educational Needs provision to start immediately. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and strategic leader who is committed to ensuring excellent outcomes for all students with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coordinate and develop the school’s SEN provision in line with the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Hold and be accountable for the SENCO Award (National Award for SEN Coordination) qualification.
  • Identify, assess, and monitor students with SEN, SEMH, ASD, ADHD and other additional needs.
  • Develop, implement and review Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCPs) and targeted support strategies.
  • Provide expert advice, support and training to teachers and support staff on inclusive practice and differentiation.
  • Work collaboratively with students, parents/carers and external professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Analyse data to track progress, evaluate interventions and plan effective support.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory duties and school policies relating to SEND, safeguarding and inclusion.
  • Lead and line-manage Teaching Assistants and support staff involved in SEN provision.

About You

  • Qualified teacher with significant secondary school experience.
  • SENCO Award (mandatory).
  • Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation.
  • Excellent communicator with strong organisational and leadership skills.
  • Committed to inclusive education and raising achievement for all learners.
