This is a fixed term/secondment post until 31/03/2027 due to funding. If you are a Hywel Dda University Health Board employee and are applying for this post as a secondment, agreement for the secondment is needed from your current manager prior to application.

This is a fixed term/secondment opportunity to step into a dynamic and rewarding role in Clinical Education. As an Education and Development Officer for Work based learning you'll help shape the future of healthcare by supporting the education and professional development of our unregistered staff working in a therapy environment. You’ll combine your hands‑on clinical knowledge with a passion for education to support diverse learners across care settings. You'll contribute to service improvement, quality assurance, and educational programme design. This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced therapy practitioner with a passion for education and development to inspire and motivate staff through their education journey, while developing their own skills in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

Main duties of the job:

  • Work autonomously to carry out assessment of learners in the workplace using a range of approved assessment methods.
  • Plan, conduct and record assessments in line with awarding organisation and/or programme requirements whilst adhering to local policy and procedures.
  • Assess, monitor and review learner progress, implementing tailored support strategies to facilitate achievement and qualification completion.
  • Act as first point of contact for work‑based Assessors, Internal Quality Assurers and learners and use expert knowledge of work‑based learning diploma qualifications to advise on training materials and training requirements.
  • Act as the key point of contact for learners and managers, providing expert advice and guidance on qualification requirements, learner progression, and assessment processes.
  • Participate in audits, governance, research, and service improvement projects.
  • Ensure training and compliance records meet awarding body and policy standards.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
