We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated, experienced individual to join our Anaesthetic Practitioner Team at Bronglais General Hospital in Aberystwyth. The department is dedicated to patient safety, excellence, and staff wellbeing and operates a highly productive main theatre service with five theatres, including a 24/7 service for NCEPOD, Ophthalmic, Trauma & Obstetrics. Responsibilities

  • Provide anaesthetic support and patient care during theatre procedures across all specialties.
  • Work a 24/7 rota, covering day, twilight and night shifts.
  • Maintain high standards of patient safety and procedural excellence.
  • Collaborate closely with other theatre staff in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
  • Mentor and support student nurse/ODP placements and assist junior colleagues to develop peri-operative competencies.

Qualifications

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Registered Nurse (RN) qualification, or a Diploma/Degree in Operating Department Practice.
  • Willingness to acquire or hold a mentorship qualification.
  • Desirable: Experience in emergency care.
  • Desirable: Ability to communicate in Welsh; the board offers learning support for staff to meet minimal Welsh language requirements.
  • Proficiency in English is essential; Welsh speakers are equally welcome.
