An opportunity has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic and innovative individual to join our Respiratory Specialist Team.

The base for this post is Glangwili General Hospital, Carmarthen but you may be required to work across the Health Board to support the Respiratory Multi-professional Team. You must have a keen interest in the field of respiratory nursing and will provide valuable support to patients who have been diagnosed Asthma, COPD, Bronchiectasis or patients that need acute or home non-invasive ventilation., You must possess excellent interpersonal skills as well as the drive, vision and initiative to motivate others and meet the demands of the service. You will be experienced at maintaining patient records and databases and have knowledge of the current respiratory pathways. You will need to demonstrate the ability to lead a clinical workload with a strong emphasis on patient centred care. You will contribute to the development and smooth running of the service.

The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate excellent computer/ IT skills, and be enthusiastic about the field of smoking cessation and health promotion. You must be able to communicate effectively at all levels, demonstrate effective teamwork and participate in ongoing audit programmes.

You will be expected to work collaboratively with patients and professional staff delivering high quality care in agreed care settings, according to established protocols and guidelines. You will be expected to hold a caseload for defined episodes of care, providing advice, education and support to patients, their family and other health care professionals, and support the respiratory ward with acute NIV.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
