This is a Fixed Term/Secondment vacancy until 31/01/2027 to cover secondment.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our dynamic and supportive Critical Care team as a Band 5 Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at Withybush Hospital.

In this vital role, you will be part of a dedicated team delivering high-quality, compassionate care to some of the most acutely ill patients in the hospital. This is a fantastic chance to develop your clinical skills in a fast-paced, specialist environment, supported by experienced colleagues and a strong multidisciplinary team.

The vacancy covers days, nights and weekend working.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be fully supported whilst gaining experience in the care of critically ill patients undergoing a variety of critical care interventions.

The successful candidate will ideally demonstrate some knowledge of Critical Care Nursing, but this is not essential and have a willingness to develop their skills further, playing an integral part in integrating critical care across Withybush General Hospital.

The applicants should be able to demonstrate the use of evidence based practice and be proactive in managing change. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, together with a readiness to innovate and develop nursing within a team approach.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and Knowledge

  • Level 1 Registered Nurse ((RGN/ RN)Adult)
  • Knowledge of NMC Codes of practice
  • BSc (Nursing)

Experience

  • Experience of previous contributions towards developing clinical practice in nurse training and/ or relevant care setting
  • Experience in acute secondary care
  • Acute nursing experience in secondary sector

Language Skills

  • Welsh Speaker (Level 1)
