Are you a dynamic, highly motivated, compassionate and enthusiastic nurse with a high level of knowledge and skills in palliative care? If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a part‑time (26.5 hours) Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist to join a busy Specialist Palliative Care Team in Pembrokeshire. This is a chance to join a team that are passionate about delivering first‑class specialist palliative and end‑of‑life care.
The postholder will work a weekday pattern of three days (9:00 am-5:00 pm) and one half day (9:00 am-1:00 pm) and will be required to participate in the weekend roster. The post holder will possess exceptional communication skills and emotional intelligence, being able to skilfully and sensitively communicate with patients, families/care givers and allied health professionals. You will share the team's passion and ethos for improving and enhancing care for patients and their loved ones through proactive, compassionate care, education, service improvement initiatives, research and audit.
Key ResponsibilitiesYou will join a team of dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialists, Consultant/Specialty Doctor, Therapists and the wider MDT in providing expert, high‑quality patient‑focused care. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidence‑based nursing care and provide expert advice and clinical practice. You will work autonomously, manage your own caseload and provide specialist education and training. You will work collaboratively and co‑operatively with clinical colleagues to develop services and the quality of care delivered, providing leadership in the development of clinical services within the specialist field. You will support quality improvement initiatives within the service and demonstrate the Health Board's values at all times.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
