Overview
The Nursing Support Worker is a vital part of the Multi Disciplinary Team. Acting under the direction of registered nurses, the Nursing Support Worker is responsible for engaging in a variety of interventions with patients. These include direct compensatory nursing care, monitoring physical health, and psychosocial interventions in the community and the patient’s own home. The role supports patients’ recovery pathways, provides role modelling for effective communication, and maintains a therapeutic and secure environment in secure services.
This is a full‑time post.
Responsibilities
- Work with individuals with mental health and learning disability needs.
- Foster hope and promote self‑management by using a whole‑person approach towards recovery.
- Support patients during emotional distress.
- Assist patients to access and develop self‑management techniques, guided by CTPs.
- Contribute to maintaining a therapeutic and secure environment.
- Treat patients with dignity and respect at all times.
- Maintain effective engagement with patients, families and carers.
- Promote equality and respect the rights of all individuals.
- Support and manage individuals throughout the recovery journey.
Language Requirement
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
