We currently have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and adaptable Qualified Dental Nurse to join a highly motivated, professional and supportive dental team in providing Dental Care to the people of Carmarthenshire. This post will be based in our Elizabeth Williams Clinic Llanelli; however, the ability to travel across sites in a timely manner is essential. This post is subject to a successful DBS and Occupational Health Screening. Applicants must be GDC registered.

Main duties of the job:

  • The Dental Nurse will be responsible for the provision of General Dental Nursing supporting clinicians in the delivery of Dental and Oral Health care to patients.
  • You should have extensive experience as a Qualified Dental Nurse, good communication and interpersonal skills along with an ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
  • The successful candidate will have the responsibility for the coordination of the dental services within the fixed clinics.
  • The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications and Knowledge: Qualified Dental nurse or demonstrable competence through equivalent experience / NEB diploma level qualification, GDC Registration, Knowledge of Clinical Governance and Clinical Audit, Recognised Oral Health Education Certificate.
  • Experience: Experience in providing clinical support to dentists and/or therapists, Oral Health Education, Stock control, Safe disposal of waste, Work within a Community Dental Service, Conscious sedation, General Anaesthesia, special needs dentistry, orthodontics, laboratory techniques and radiography.
  • Language Skills: Welsh Speaker (Level 1).

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

£27,898 to £30,615 a year per annum pro rata.
