The role of Health Records Co-ordinator requires the successful candidate to support the Supervisors in every aspect of the department's responsibilities, be it covering staff that are absent, liaising with staff from other departments and potentially taking responsibility for a particular area within Health Records. The department is currently undergoing a great deal of change, driven by the conversion of physical records into a digital format. This means various health records roles are subject to change, and the person selected to join this evolving team will have the opportunity to help mould the roles to be as efficient as they can be. This opportunity is to assist in taking the department into a new direction, and to ensure that all runs smoothly.

Main duties of the job

  • Responsible for efficient provision, organisation and security of hospital records for all inpatient and outpatient activity, ensuring confidentiality and data accuracy at all times.
  • The postholder supports the day-to-day running of the Health Records Library, coordinating workloads, supervising filing staff, managing absence records, and resolving queries or issues.
  • Duties also include locating missing records, maintaining and updating patient information, using WPAS to track records and produce reports, and supporting the Health Board's digitisation programme to ensure an effective and responsive service.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
