Job Overview

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Paediatrician with a specialist interest in Weight Management to join our Acute Paediatric Team in Hywel Dda.

This role provides the chance to work in a supportive and forward‑looking environment, delivering high‑quality care to children in inpatient and outpatient settings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate a comprehensive Weight Management service for Children and Young people, covering all aspects of clinical care, leadership and associated management responsibilities.
  • Lead and support research activity within the Acute Paediatric service, ensuring alignment with the HDUHB Research and Development framework and informing future service delivery.
  • Develop the Paediatric Weight Management service through effective collaboration with other healthcare providers, external organisations and agencies.
  • Provide professional leadership for Acute Paediatric teams, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
  • Work closely with clinical and professional colleagues to maintain the productivity and job satisfaction of Paediatric staff, including participation in staff appraisal processes.

Represent HDUHB at regional and national groups related to Weight Management, such as Managed Clinical Networks, where appropriate.
