The Catering Department at Withybush General Hospital is currently looking to recruit bank Catering Assistants who would like to join a large team of individuals within the department in providing an effective and efficient cleaning and catering service. The successful candidate will play an integral role within the team in ensuring that the food is prepared, delivered and the department is cleaned to the highest standard.
The post-holder will be required to provide a catering and food service for all patients & visitors, in accordance with the agreed Catering and Nutritional Policy, as well as the Food Safety Regulations and Food Hygiene Regulations.
Main duties of the job:
- Supporting the catering service, helping to make sure patients, staff and visitors receive safe, high-quality meals every day.
- Involved in all aspects of kitchen work, including general cleaning of floors, walls, work surfaces and equipment, following the agreed cleaning schedules.

Qualifications and Knowledge:- Literate and numerate.
- Basic Health & Safety, COSHH, moving and handling (on the job training).
- Food safety level 2 or equivalent.
- Good level of general education.
- NVQ 2 Welcome Host.
- Experience in working in hospitality or kitchen environment.
- Experience of dealing with the general public.
- Experience in working in a large scale kitchen environment.
- Welsh Speaker (level 1).
