This appointment is offered for a Fixed Term Clinical Fellow. The principal place of employment is Glangwili General Hospital, although other working locations may be necessary and will form part of your agreed job plan. This will be subject to change as the Health Board’s clinical requirements are amended to meet the needs of the service/patients.

Other hospitals at which duties are performed: In view of the fact that the organisation is currently undertaking a review of its services and the locations at which they are undertaken, it is important to be aware that work patterns may change and the place(s) of duties modified.

The Clinical Strategy of the Health Board is under constant development and the job holder may be required to undertake different duties to those agreed at the time of appointment., Doctors wishing to apply for these posts must have full registration with the General Medical Council and will have completed at least two years’ full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) General Medicine or shall have equivalent experience and competencies. Postgraduate training opportunities include monthly Journal and Audit meetings, and the opportunity to attend the weekly protected teaching sessions.

Hywel Dda Health Board is an integrated health body, ensuring the delivery of high quality primary, community, mental health and secondary care services. It is responsible for the health and wellbeing of people across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.

The Postgraduate Department has a fully developed programme of guest lectures, lunchtime and afternoon meetings, including special interest groups and co-ordinated intra-practice activities and career counselling. The library offers a wide ranging book collection, with interlibrary lending network, excellent IT facilities, audio-visual and conferencing equipment.

Please be advised that there is a temporary top up for Bands 1,2 and 3 to reflect the incorporation of the top up to the living wage of £12 per hour – £23,465 per annum. This temporary top up will be in place until the annual pay uplift for 2024/25 is confirmed.
