This post is a Fixed Term/Secondment for 10 months until 08/06/27 due to secondment cover.

The post plays an integral part in the Operational Workforce team, providing generalist operational workforce advice to managers and staff, ensuring services are effectively supported. It is required to provide professional generalist workforce support, within the remit of policies and procedures, current employment law and generalist best practice.

The post holder will also provide support to the Workforce team and the different roles that comprise it, contributing to the delivery of the Department’s objectives. This is an ideal opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team where you can apply and develop your knowledge and skills.

  • To take an active, operational role in working with managers across all services to proactively manage sickness absence.
  • To support the Workforce Team with a variety of employee relations process including disciplinary and Respect and Resolution, including any associated investigations and hearings.
  • To provide advice and support to line managers within the remit of Health Board policy and employment law.
  • To advise on employment contracts, entitlements and national and local NHS terms and conditions.
  • To develop an expertise in employment law and HR best practice.
  • To support the Senior Workforce Team with specified project work as it may arise from time to time, including issues around national initiatives/ projects that may necessitate representing the Health Board with external bodies.

  • Five community hospitals: Amman Valley and Llandovery hospitals in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron Hospital in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire hospitals in Pembrokeshire
  • Two integrated care centres: Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion, and several other community settings
  • 47 general practices (six of which are health board managed practices); dental practices (including four orthodontic); 99 community pharmacies; 43 general ophthalmic practices; and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers
  • Numerous mental health and learning disabilities service
