We are looking for a Ward Sister/Charge Nurse Band 6 for Morlais Ward at Glangwili Hospital, Carmarthen. Morlais Ward is a 9-bedded acute adult mental health inpatient ward with allocated CAMHS inpatient provision.

Responsibilities

  • Assess care needs and develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care without supervision.
  • Teach and develop nursing and non‑nursing staff; supervise and appraise staff nurses.
  • Act as clinical lead on the unit and take charge in the absence of the Ward Manager.
  • Maintain excellent communication, leadership and documentation skills.

Requirements

  • Flexible, highly motivated, enthusiastic with strong leadership, communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience providing person‑centred care in an acute mental health setting.
  • Ability to supervise staff and undertake clinical lead responsibilities.
  • Desirable: ability to speak Welsh; English is required.
