We are thrilled to be recruiting Band 6 Scrub Practitioners to join our vibrant Theatre Suite at Glangwili Hospital! Our theatres support a wide range of specialties, including Emergency General Surgery, Elective and Emergency Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Trauma & Orthopaedics, ENT, Urology, and Ophthalmology, offering a rich and varied clinical experience. As a Band 6, you'll play a key role in supporting our Band 7 Sisters and Charge Nurses with the day-to-day operational management of the theatre suite, ensuring the delivery of high standards of patient care and smooth, efficient service provision. You'll be part of a dynamic and motivated team in a friendly, supportive learning environment, where learning and development are championed by our dedicated Practice Development Team. Main duties of the job:- Support the departmental lead(s) in maintaining an efficient and effective service delivering safe patient care within an environment that promotes a responsive approach to changing health care needs.
- Provide supervisory management and leadership skills and be motivated towards self-development in both management and leadership studies.
- Support and work in conjunction with the Team Managers to ensure the effective delivery of high standards of nursing care.
- Lead on a day-to-day basis the running of specialist clinical area/department, and when allocated act as the daily coordinator for the department, providing supervisory management and leadership skills in an environment which is complex and pressurised.
- Work as a skilled emergency Practitioner, working autonomously to support other colleagues to co-ordinate the clinical areas and to provide specialised knowledge ensuring the maintenance and development of a skilled nursing/Practitioner workforce.
- Participate in an on-call and night rota, on AFC terms.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply. Interviews will be held on 02/12/25.

Person Specification:- Qualifications and knowledge:
- RGN level 1 or Operating Department Practitioner
- Specific clinical training/education related to Theatre/Anaesthetics/Recovery
- Evidence of continuous professional development to post graduate diploma level
- Expanded clinical nursing skills
- Willing to undertake required education development within 2 years
- Willing to undertake other training essential to role
- Management/Leadership programme
- BSc (in health related subject) willing to work toward
- Certificate/Diploma or equivalent training in Orthopaedic/Trauma work
- Teaching and assessing module
- Recognised Critical care Course/Module
- Welsh speaker (Level 1)
- Experience:
- Post registration experience including experience in the relevant clinical field
- Multi skilled competencies within the operating department.
