We have two ST-Higher LAS posts available. The posts are open to staff currently employed by Hywel Dda University Health Board and available from 05/08/2026 to 07/10/2026. Primarily based at Glangwili General Hospital in Carmarthen with travel to other sites for clinical duties.
Main Duties:
- Contribute to elective services and participate in a 1:12 Obstetrics & Gynaecology rota, working closely with supervising Consultants to ensure high‑quality prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Undertake independent ward rounds and provide safe, effective inpatient care.
- Manage patients confidently and autonomously within agreed clinical parameters.
- Provide clear clinical leadership to resident and trainee medical staff.
- Support a positive, collaborative working culture within the multidisciplinary team.
- Take part in departmental teaching activities.
- Engage in research initiatives and contribute to a culture of learning and innovation.
- Participate in regular multidisciplinary clinical audit to ensure practice remains evidence‑based and aligned with national standards.
- Deliver clinical care in accordance with contractual requirements, Health Board service plans, and established policies, procedures, and protocols.
Qualifications:
- Full GMC registration.
- Current NHS clinical experience.
- Experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology preferred.
- Good communication skills.
