Job Overview


A Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse post has arisen for enthusiastic, motivated experienced Critical Care Nurse within the Critical Care Unit in Glangwili General Hospital, Carmarthen.


A Sister/Charge Nurse, within Critical Care, will have the responsibility of ensuring a high level of patient care at all times throughout the unit. They will be actively involved in, as well as supervising, the patients' care, managing planned and unplanned admissions and ensuring correct staffing levels. They will need to be confident in leading the Unit in the absence of the Senior Sister and be involved in coaching and developing more junior team members.


The successful candidate must have significant experience in critical care nursing. They should be a real team player, able to clearly communicate with those around them and have a calm approach to problem solving. They should be committed to creating an environment of continuous improvement and learning to ensure the best possible standards of care are maintained at all times. Finally, they will have to demonstrate a passion for a patient-centred approach through keeping the department organised and professional at all times.


The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
