Lead the delivery of the Orthotics Service across the Health Board, overseeing the complex day-to-day operational activities and managing both employed and contracted Podiatry/Orthotics staff to ensure resources and professional skills are used effectively to meet service demands. Hold managerial responsibility for the Podiatry/Orthotics service within the Carmarthenshire locality, deputising for the Head of Podiatry on all matters relating to this geographical area.

Main duties:

  • Be responsible for service planning and development within podiatry in Carmarthenshire, and the overall planning for orthotics within the 3 counties Health Board wide.
  • Ensure Podiatry and Orthotic interventions across the Health Board are delivered in line with National, Local, Departmental and Professional protocols, and are underpinned by current best evidence.
  • Lead the development of Health Board–wide clinical pathways for Orthotic services and represent the organisation at Welsh Government level on Orthotics-related matters.
  • Practise as an autonomous clinician within the Orthotic and MSK fields, independently managing a highly complex and specialist caseload.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
