A vacancy has arisen to join the Clinical Engineering team at Hywel Dda University Health Board. The Clinical Engineering Department delivers medical equipment management services throughout the University Health Board, providing a broad range of complex, routine, and non-routine activities including servicing, repair, calibration, safety testing, quality assurance, evaluation, commissioning, decommissioning, and planned preventive maintenance of clinical equipment and devices.

Responsibilities:

  • Work largely on your own initiative, carrying out planning functions related to preventive maintenance and inspections.
  • Problem-solve across a wide range of complex equipment, including patient monitoring systems, anaesthetic machines, ventilators, medical lasers, infusion devices, and baby incubators.
  • Perform tasks to the highest standards in support of high-quality patient care.
  • Support a team effort and be overseen by the local Principal Clinical Technologist and Head of Clinical Engineering.
  • Rotate certain responsibilities over time across the peer group as needed.
