Job OverviewWe are seeking a motivated and capable senior doctor to join our supportive and collaborative Emergency Department team at Glangwili General Hospital .This senior-level role offers the opportunity to play a key part in delivering high-quality emergency care within a busy district general hospital. As the senior doctor on site outside normal working hours, you will provide clinical leadership for the Emergency Department, managing acutely unwell patients, supporting and supervising resident medical staff, and helping to coordinate patient flow across the department. You will work closely with the on-call Emergency Medicine Consultant, backed by an experienced and approachable multidisciplinary team. This post provides excellent exposure to a wide range of emergency presentations and offers an ideal environment for doctors looking to develop their leadership, decision-making and acute care skills within a well-established and supportive department. - Deliver high-quality emergency medical care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
- Assess, diagnose and manage acutely unwell patients, taking responsibility for clinical decision-making appropriate to the role.
- Act as the senior doctor on site during out-of-hours periods, providing supervision, support and guidance to resident medical staff.
- Help coordinate patient flow within the Emergency Department to support safe and effective care.
- Work in partnership with Emergency Medicine Consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
- Participate in clinical audit, quality improvement activities and governance processes to support ongoing service development.
- Contribute to teaching, training and educational activities within the department.
- Work collaboratively with clinical, managerial and professional colleagues across the Health Board to deliver safe, effective and patient-centred care.
