The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Children Looked After (CLA) Team in the provision and development of a comprehensive health service for children and young people who are looked after within Hywel Dda University Health Board. This is a full‑time post; part‑time hours may be considered.
Main Duties of the Job
- Take responsibility for managing a delegated caseload, including the delivery of health services for Children Looked After, in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code: Standards of conduct, performance and ethics for nurses.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care of children looked after, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
- Undertake statutory Children Looked After (CLA) Health Assessments in line with national guidance, ensuring safe practice during all health promotion activities and maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge and skills.
- Be involved in health education/health promotion in relation to children looked after and support carers in its implementation.
- Maintain and update clinical knowledge and, where appropriate, advise and guide others including carers, professionals and students.
- Be aware of child protection guidance/policy issues and the need for effective and robust documentation and communication in line with child safeguarding procedures.
- Prioritise workload to minimise risk to vulnerable children and maximise equality of health for all.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
