We are looking for a conscientious, hard-working, caring person to join our team as a Radiology Assistant within the CT/MRI/Ultrasound and Admin department at Glangwili Hospital. This is a full-time post which will include long days/lates/earlies between 8am and 8pm including weekends/bank holidays. Working days will be Monday and Friday predominantly but flexibility is essential.
Main duties of the job:
- It is essential that you enjoy working with people and have great communication skills.
- You must have patience and be methodical, work well in a team but have the ability to take initiative and work individually.
- Assisting the Radiographers working in the clinical areas.
- To perform clerical and administration duties.
- To assist patients to prepare for CT/MRI and Ultrasound scans.
- Supporting the radiographers and patients during and after radiology procedures.
- Cleaning and general hygiene tasks in the department.
- Stock-taking and ordering of designated consumables.
- Supporting the admin team for booking of patients' appointments.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Qualifications and Experience:
- NVQ/Level 3 qualification in relevant field.
- Knowledge of medical/healthcare terminology.
- Welsh Speaker (Level 1).
- Experience of a range of duties working in a supportive or assistant role.
- Previous experience in similar supportive or assistant role.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
