This is a fixed‑term contract/secondment commencing 16 September 2026 and concluding 15 September 2028 due to funding. The position is a 2‑year training programme for pharmacy technicians, with the opportunity to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) upon successful completion. Recruitment is open to Hywel Dda University Health Board employees on secondment (agreement from the current manager required). Non‑UK / RoI candidates will need a Health and Care visa or Skilled Worker visa.
Responsibilities
- Participate in a rotational training programme covering dispensing for in‑patients and out‑patients, purchasing and distribution, and ward‑based work.
- Gain exposure to the evolving roles of a pharmacy technician and integrate into multidisciplinary hospital teams.
- Complete training milestones and demonstrate competence in medication management, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Compensation
Pay rates are set at 70% of the top band 4 rate in the first year and 75% in the second year.
