We are looking for an exceptional and forward‑thinking leader to join our Planned Care and Specialist Care Group as the Performance & Transformation Lead. This is a pivotal senior role, providing strategic leadership and expert analysis to drive improvements across outpatient transformation, recovery and performance programmes that report directly to Welsh Government.
You will lead a specialist team responsible for delivering high‑quality performance reporting, data analysis, demand and capacity modelling, and transformational change initiatives to enhance patient flow, reduce waiting times, and modernise services across the Health Board.
- Lead the delivery of performance, analytics and transformation functions for Planned Care, ensuring achievement of national and local performance targets.
- Provide expert analysis and interpretation of complex data to support decision‑making, demand and capacity planning and performance forecasting.
- Lead the Outpatient Transformation Team and Care Group Performance/Validation staff, providing direction, support and professional leadership.
- Manage complex multi‑disciplinary projects and programmes, including modernisation initiatives, pathway redesign and service recovery plans.
- Produce high‑quality analytical reports, dashboards and business cases to support strategic and operational priorities.
- Advise clinical, operational and senior management teams on performance issues, service improvement opportunities and transformation processes.
- Support development of evidence‑based service change proposals, ensuring alignment with Welsh Government policy and Health Board strategy.
- Lead stakeholder engagement, workshops and communication relating to contentious or complex service change.
- Ensure compliance with governance, quality, safety and data management standards across performance and transformation activity.
Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties. We have over 13,000 staff and together we provide primary, community, in‑hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services.
Our services are provided in four main hospitals: Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth; Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen; Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli; and Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest. Five community hospitals: Amman Valley and Llandovery hospitals in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron Hospital in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire hospitals in Pembrokeshire. Two integrated care centres: Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion, and several other community settings.
47 general practices (six of which are health board managed practices); dental practices (including four orthodontic); 99 community pharmacies; 43 general ophthalmic practices; and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers. Numerous mental health and learning disabilities services.
