Job Overview
This is a fixed term post until 10/08/2027. An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for a Registered Occupational Therapist to join our Adult Mental Health Services across the Carmarthenshire locality. This 12‑month fixed‑term rotational post offers a unique opportunity to gain experience across both adult inpatient services (6 months) and a Community Mental Health Team (6 months). Placement locations will be determined based on service need, offering a dynamic and varied experience. This role is ideal for a newly qualified Occupational Therapist or individuals with a strong interest in mental health, looking to build a broad and transferable skillset across acute and community settings.
Main Duties
- Deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based, person‑centred occupational therapy
- Work within an integrated, multidisciplinary team, contributing to effective discharge planning and care pathways
- Support individuals to engage in meaningful occupations, promoting recovery and independence
- Facilitate recovery‑focused interventions, including therapeutic group work within inpatient and community settings
- Work collaboratively with patients, families, carers, and third sector partners to enhance health and wellbeing outcomes
- Apply the principles of the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010 within your practice
Visa Eligibility
To work in the UK, all candidates who are not UK or Republic of Ireland nationals require sponsorship to obtain a Health and Care visa or a Skilled Worker visa, unless you have permission to work via another route.
