Exciting opportunity to join an inspiring motivated team within the Critical Care unit in Glangwili General Hospital. The post-holder will be responsible for the delivery of a high standard of safe, individualised, efficient, cost-effective care under the delegated authority of a Registered Nurse. The post-holder will communicate effectively at all times and in conjunction with other ward/team members, contribute to and maintain the ward/team philosophy. The post-holder will practice in accordance with Health Board standards and statutory requirements and operate within the boundaries of the role and assessed competencies. Various full and part time hours are available.
Main duties of the job:
- You will be helping to ensure that critical care runs smoothly by undertaking duties outlined by the Nurse in Charge on a day to day basis.
- This will involve supporting the registered nurse with direct patient care, stocking unit with equipment, assisting with admission and discharges.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply. Interviews to be held on 24/11/2025.

Person Specification:
Qualifications and Knowledge:- Level 3 qualification in a health care related subject or equivalent experience and can evidence work based competency demonstrating theoretical knowledge, and the ability to undertake clinical care duties relevant for the role which is gained through experience and worked based training/short courses.
- Knowledge of the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales and All Wales Delegation Guidelines (HEIW).
- Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures within a healthcare setting for example the principles of Safeguarding adults/children to keep patients within their care safe, and confidentiality for example General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
- Experience of working within a relevant health or social care environment, providing direct patient care.
- Experience of working with patient groups relevant to area of practice.
- Experience of working within the NHS.
- Welsh speaker (Level 1).
- Disclosure and Barring Service Check: This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
